Pumps on California Delta
View of the Harvey O. Banks pumping plant at the southern end of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. These pumps send water through the State Water Project to the San Joaquin Valley and southern California. However, pumping has been restricted by a federal judge because of mortality to Delta smelt, a federally listed species, and harm to listed salmon runs.
