Hippocampal Replay Isn't Just Rehearsal
Examples of Shortcut Trajectories
![Examples of Shortcut Trajectories](/system/content_item_assets/images/813/large/0549352_2010_touretzky-fig1B.jpg)
Three examples of shortcut sequences reconstructed from hippocampal recordings. The black diamond shows the location of the rat at the time of the replay event. The colored dots indicate a sequence of locations decoded from the hippocampal activity pattern. Color indicates time, going from blue (early) to purple (late). These trajectories show the rat leaving the feeding station and taking a shortcut to the other side of the maze.
