Electromagnetic interactions in hybrid metallic-semiconductor nanostructures
Schematic of experimental setup
Experimental setup: The setup consisted of a home-built inverted microscope. White light illumination was used to locate the nanowires. Laser light at 532nm was used to excite and optically locate the quantum dots. Laser light at 710nm probed the interaction between the nanostructures by exciting the propagating surface plasmons and quantum dots. A spectrometer and camera collected spectral and image information. [Wei et al., 2009]
