Achievement/Results

A layer by layer process to manufacture nanopapers has been prototyped. We have used filtration approach to obtain small sized nanopapers. Different functionalization approaches for Carbon Nanofibers (CNF) have been evaluated. Nanopapers of various strengths have been obtained. A process to manufacture larger scale papers is being developed.

Address Goals

The nanopapers developed will allow the application to surface protection and EMI shielding of plastic and composites parts.

The equipment being built will complement our composites manufacturing lab.
