Predicting the Distribution of Invasive Species from Aerial Survey Data
Preliminary results of invasive species models using Brazilian Pepper
This image shows the input data for Brazilian pepper and the results of two modeling procedures: MaxEnt and Generalized Linear Modeling (GLM). The data points represent the centroids of polygons where Brazilian pepper was recorded as an invasive species. These data were then used in the MaxEnt and GLMs to find covariates that explained the presence or distribution of the species. Results of these models were then used to develop the predictive maps of distribution for the species.
