New mathematical models
IGERT trainee Paul Williams has been developing new mathematical methods for decomposing the information carried by a set of variables. These methods were primarily developed in the context of studying evolved model agents. However, through new interactions with IGERT faculty members John Beggs, Olaf Sporns, and Larry Yaeger, he has begun to explore a variety of applications of these techniques in other areas, including neuroscience and cellular automata.
