Achievement

One of our new trainees, Justin Foster, attended the IEEE Conference on Decision and Control in Shanghai. Here he presented a paper he co-authored with one of the IGERT faculty, Michael Caramanis, in which they tackle the environmental challenge of limiting greenhouse gas emissions in both the transportation and electric power sectors. They found that the complementary nature of clean intermittent generation and plug-in-hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) provided a compelling opportunity to take advantage of the mutually beneficial impact of simultaneous growth in wind power and PHEV adoption.
