Achievement

MEID trainees have had a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals, including the following publications during this report period: Lars Ekernas: research was featured in a paper on the sex and age differences in juvenile social priorities in female-philopatric, non-despotic blue monkeys in the American Journal of Primatology; Erin Landguth published research results on CDPOP: a spatially explicit cost distance population genetics program in Molecular Ecology Resources; Ted Cosart's research on Bacterial gene abundances as indicators of greenhouse gas emission in soils was published in the ISME Journal; Tammi Johnson's research on identical strains of Borrelia hermsii in mammals and birds was published in Emerging Infectious Diseases, and Marnie Rout's invasive plant research was published in An Invasive Plant Paradox in Science and her work, The invasive Sorghum halepense harbors endophytic N-fixing bacteria and alters soil biogeochemistry, was published in Plant and Soil.
