Achievement

Trainee Ben Kamphaus (Anthropology) worked as part of an interdisciplinary team of remote sensing researchers, led by Professor Le Wang (Geograpahy), to develop new methods for the estimation of human urban populations based on remotely-sensed images. Kampaus was co-author on a resulting publication (Silván-Cárdenas et al., in press), and his MS thesis was also part of this project.
