Complex Systems Advanced Academic Workshop
An educational achievement this year is a series of workshops that enhanced our trainees' educational experience. For the past six years, the Center for the Study of Complex Systems (CSCS) has recevieved funding from the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School to host a Complex Systems Advanced Academic Workshop (CSAAW). The group is led by students (two IGERT trainees this year) and hosts speakers and other more informal gatherings througout the year. This year we organized a number of workshops to coincide with CSAAW events including a workshop on agent-based modeling where participants discussed next steps in the field. These events provided additional opportunities for our IGERT trainees to network with faculty and researchers involved in complex systems research.
