Trainees interact with experts
Our IGERT program allows opportunities for our trainees and affiliates to interact with recognized experts in their field. These experts span academia, government labs, and industry. During visits they engage in (1) visits to our research labs with student presentations, (2) roundtable discussions with students, (3) seminars delivered to our students, and (4) presentations by students with feedback from visitors. During the past year our IGERT students have interacted with Janie Fields (Children's Environmental Health Institute), Dr. Alvin Lai (City U. of Hong Kong), Dr. Glenn Morrison (Missouri U. of Science & Tech), Dr. William Nazaroff (UC Berkeley), Dr. David Ramirez (Texas A&M), Jim Rosenthal (Nat'l Air Filtration Assoc.), Dr. Linda Sheldon (USEPA), Dr. Jack Spengler (Harvard U.), Dr. Anne Steinemann (U. Washington), Dr. Michael Strommen (3M), Don Weekes (InAir Environmental), Dr. Charles Weschler (Rutgers U), and 20 staff members of the Austin Energy Green Building program.
