Evolutionary implications of pottery manufacture
Erik Gjesfjeld (former IPEM trainee) used his IPEM experiences to develop a dissertation proposal on the evolutionary implications of pottery manufacture and design in Kuril Island assemblages. He spent two months in Autumn 2009 conducting pilot analysis of pottery collections stored in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia.
Devin Drown (SBS, WSU) received the Brislawn Graduate Fellowship in 2009 from WSU. Later this semester he will become the first IPEM trainee to receive his PhD.
