Achievement

A seminar series on the specific subject of the IGERT - Computational Optical Sensing and Imaging - was offered. Speakers from the University of Colorado, other academic institutions around the country, industrial and international IGERT partners, were invited to give presentations. Thanks to these talks the trainees were exposed first hand to some of the most advanced topics presented by the experts in the field. The seminar also covered topics of interest such as entrepreneurship, career choices, and technology transfer policies. Personal interaction of the trainees with the guest speakers was enhanced through a newly established informal half hour meeting with the guest speaker in addition to the usual lab tours. In total 28 talks were given during this reporting period, including 3 by advanced IGERT trainees or associates, 13 invited scientists, 6 industry professionals, and 4 CU professors.
