IGERT trainee first female to graduate from IGPMS
Nicole Dygert is the first female IGERT-Fellow Ph.D. to graduate from the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Materials Science (IGPMS) at Vanderbilt. Since the IGERT program began in 2003 we have doubled the number of female Ph.D. candidates with over 20% of the IGPMS graduate students women. Nicole Dygert completed her Ph.D. degree in 4 years, which included a six month internship at the University of Delft in Holland. She has accepted a job as an Associated Research Chemist at Edwards Air Force Base in Mojave, California.
