Aspects of early human diets reconstructed
IGERT student Amanda Henry completed her dissertation showing that aspects of early human diets can be reconstructed through recovery and analysis of starch grain preserved in their dental calculus. Her analysis of plant microfossils in the dental calculus of Neanderthals and early modern humans showed that both ate many kinds of plants, and the Neanderthals also may have prepared grains by cooking
