Trainees help design laboratory courses
Two week-long summer laboratory courses were designed by program engineer, Dr. Joh, in consultation with CREATE-IGERT faculty trainers. The inaugural offerings of these summer short courses, Plant Transformation Methods and the Recovery and Purification of Plant-Derived Products, were implemented in the summer of 2009 with participation by 11 CREATE-IGERT UC Davis and Tuskegee University trainees. In each laboratory course trainees worked in interdisciplinary teams to address a challenging problem in plant transformation or protein recovery/purification.
