Achievement

Trainee Alfred Lee led our trainees in writing a NSF supplemental proposal, secured the funding, and organized the 2010 Inter-IGERT Nanoscience and Professional Development Workshop April 14-17. They brought together 19 IGERT trainees from 11 IGERT programs across the country who are conducting research in all forms of nanoscience and nanotechnology. An important part of this workshop is to expose the attendees to future career options and research going on beyond our familiar academic institutions. The program centered around a UT Nano Night poster session (41 student posters) bringing in national participation to the event. The program included lab tours, student talks, national lab and academic talks, an industry panel, networking lunch, outreach panel and an IGERT issues panel.
