Achievement

Trainees' Research Projects: Ten funded trainees and several Associates are actively conducting complementary research in the four study regions. The dissertation projects are within the major research themes of this IGERT. They are collaborating with various organizations including Frankfurt Zool. Soc.-Peru, Wildlife Cons. Soc.-Bolivia, Southern Env. Alliance-Belize, Calnali Res. Station, University collaborators-Mexico. Research approaches include interviews with local farmers and fishers, remote sensing techniques, radioisotope analyses, genetic characterization of populations, and policy analysis.
