Research Achievements
Measuring phenotypic parameters in Arabidopsis
Ben Cole's thesis project has focused on development of an unbiased computational tool for quantitatively measuring phenotypic parameters in Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings. This tool is being utilized for quantifying the growth response to stress stimuli, such as foliar shade or low light conditions, and could prove to be instrumental in teasing apart the signaling pathway that allows plant growth control to occur. This interdisciplinary research would not have been possible without the IGERT Program.
