Trainee receives UNCF-Merck fellowship
Trainee Dannielle Solomon-Figueroa received a UNCF-Merck Graduate Science Research Dissertation Fellowship, which includes up to $42,000 in stipend for 12 to 24 months, starting in the fall of 2010. The fellowship also includes a $10,000 research grant which may cover Dannielle's travel, insurance, supplies, equipment or other research-related expenses. Dannielle will be mentored by a Merck scientist (TBD), and will be expected to visit the Merck Research Laboratories at least twice during her Fellowship tenure. In addition, Dannielle has been selected for the NSF OISE EAPSI program for Korea. She will be working with Dr. Jennifer Shin at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in the Soft Biomaterials Laboratory, from June 20 - August 22.
