Trainee presents lectures and mentors students
IGERT trainee Jeff Bowman (a microbiologist) was a Teaching Assistant with Prof. Woody Sullivan (PI, an astronomer) for an introductory undergraduate course on Astrobiology. Besides contributing a few lectures in his specialty, Bowman was responsible for mentoring students twice weekly on all the topics covered, including many well outside his own discipline. Bowman worked hard and excelled at this, so that Sullivan feels he would be qualified to give the course by himself - a remarkable achievement for a second-year student.
