Anti-reflection structures for THz waves
IGERT trainee Yuting Chen has been working on anti-reflection structures for THz waves during this reporting period. As a result from the research, a patent application was filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office in August 2010 and a scientific journal paper was published in Optics Letters in September 2010.
IGERT former trainee Dr. Robinson now at the Air Force Research Lab won the "Ralph I. Cole Scientist/Engineer of the Year" award in the Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate in Jan. 2011. The "Ralph I. Cole Scientist/Engineer of the Year" award is conferred annually on a scientist or engineer assigned to the Information Directorate for outstanding scientific or technical management achievements in a research and development program during the last 12 months.
Dr. Robinson was selected as one of the "Top 200 Influential Hispanics in Technology" by the Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology magazine (HE&IT) 2011.
