MFCs as source of renewable energy
Mr. Sanchez’s work is advancing microbial fuel cells (MFCs), an important source of renewable energy. However, to become a viable in terms of renewable energy, an increase of current densities relative to their abiotic counterparts is necessary. Mr. Sanchez developed a nanoparticles based architecture to more efficiently increase the cathodic reaction. His work resulted in two peer reviewed journal articles in Energy and Fuels and Journal of Materials Chemistry.
