Collaboration with researchers in Switzerland
During the last reporting period, Tom Holcombe started a collaboration with the group of Michael Grätzel at EPFL in Switzerland, which has led to employment in that lab as a post-doctoral researcher. Three new peer-reviewed articles were published in this time, as well. One formal presentation was made at the MRS in San Francisco. Tom has recently been able to elucidate an important charge generation design rule for organic photovoltaic devices. This research has been accepted for publication in the flagship ACS journal: the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Additionally, he participated and helped lead a team of researchers focused on broader research goals associated with advancing the science of organic electronics. Two new graduate students were trained to continue working on the projects designed while he was still at UC Berkeley.
