Achievement

In a global sense, the most important and critical achievement in research is the establishment of interdisciplinary Ph.D. degree in Wind Science and Engineering. The degree program is sustaining itself in spite of a lack of university infrastructure for interdisciplinary programs. The degree program continues to admit five students each year. The students pursue interdisciplinary research in a combination of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, atmospheric science and economics and dissertation research follows the general areas of wind energy and wind disaster mitigation. Both of these areas require interdisciplinary research.
