Achievement

Many of our trainees report that one of the most valuable contributions of the IGERT program is the support for academic travel, especially international travel, provides one of the most valuable components of the IGERT program. IGERT supports student travel through conference funding and the funding of an international experience. Through such funding, students are able to broaden their perspective of their discipline and, from an early career stage, begin to form ties and relationships with other professionals. Through such support, Sam Coleman was able to attend a conference on Social and Behavioral Computing which produced many exciting ideas regarding the integration of such thinking into Agent Based Models in Geography.
