Research Achievements
Deterrent effect of death penalty
One of our IGERT fellows (Aaron Chalfin) and the grant PI have coauthored an extensive review of the empirical research purporting to find a deterrent effect of the death penalty. The review had been solicited by a National Academy of Sciences panel investigating whether the death penalty deters murder and will be presented in late April before the full panel.
