Achievement

As our IGERT program has matured such that we have a full range of more advanced students, intermediate students, and new trainees, a particularly tight-knit community of students has developed. Students discuss their work with IGERT peers across disciplines, share analytic methods and tools, help orient each other to new research areas and literatures, give practice talks, and collaborate on student-initiated research. These outcomes fulfill some of the key fundamental objectives of our IGERT program, and our evaluation results indicate that the weekly Common Ground seminar has been especially important in enabling these outcomes.
