Achievement

IGERT trainees have in the past two years spontaneously created their own courses, in which they share their expertise via formal instruction. IGERT trainee Constantine Lignos offered a course in Python programming, the computer-programming language of choice among many analyzing linguistic phenomena. IGERT trainee Josef Fruehwald offered a course in the statistical programming language R, teaching students the details of multi-level linear modeling, a method used in several disciplines, including Psychology, Linguistics, Biology and Computer science to analyze experimental results. He continues to maintain an R-users support group.
