Trainee establishes research station
During her LEAP internship, Kellen Marshall established the Dr. George Washington Carver Research Station at Eden Place Nature Center, an African American nature center. The research station is the first community-driven project aimed at citizen science and increasing minority STEM student projects at the nature center. The research station established by Kellen is highly interdisciplinary, facilitating social and natural science studies as they related to communities of color.
