IGERT course introduces interdisciplinary research
Each year, a cohort of new trainees is required to take our IGERT developed course entitled "Team Research in Ecology" (TREE). The objective of this course is to introduce trainees to interdisciplinary research in mathematics, ecology and statistics through team research projects. The course is co-taught by a mathematician, statistician and an ecologist and focuses on deterministic and stochastic modeling with specific application to metapopulations. The class is split into small interdisciplinary teams (1 from each discipline) and are given directed research projects
