Achievement

A new course, Learning Theory, was developed for the program by Drs. Smolensky and Mathis. To keep the curriculum up to date given the recent rise to prominence in cognitive science of Bayesian learning models, and recent progress in computational linguistics, such a course was important to create for our trainees. In accord with a recommendation by an external review, we incorporated into the course a weekly lab devoted to teaching Matlab and its use in cognitive models of learning.
