Trainee Achievements
Invasion of the cane toad
Trainee Daryl Trumbo continued his field research in Australia using IPEM funds from February 2011 - May 2011. He collected genetic samples from the invasive cane toad (Bufo marinus) to examine their invasion in a landscape genetics framework, and started a pilot breeding experiment to examine the evolution of cane toad phenotypes across their range. He also collaborated with Australian graduate students and faculty from James Cook University (northern Queensland, Australia). He also began to analyze his genetic data from last year (February - March 2010) in the Storfer Genetics Lab at WSU using IPEM funds.
