Ethics in Nanotechnolgy course
Our course on Societal and Ethical Issues in Nanotechnology, offered for the first time in 2009, was improved and offered again in Autumn 2010. The course was open to both graduate and undergraduate students, and included one non-matriculated student from the state department of ecology. In addition to surveying important issues related to the societal impact of nanotechnology, students worked in diverse groups to create case studies for use by people without room in their schedule for an entire 3 credit class. These case studies were used the following quarter for ethics training at the UW NNIN site.
