Achievement

Historically we have focused on the ability of trainee's to effectively communicate their research in an oral manner in our developmental workshops, e.g. Communicating with Policy Makers Workshop, Communicating with the Media Workshop. This past summer we offered a Thesis and Science Writing Workshop, based on an interest expressed by the trainees. The workshop was conducted by Cicciarelli of the Sweetland Writing Center at the University of Michigan. The workshop focused on the skills necessary to clearly and effectively communicate their research in a written manner. The trainees were also given one-on-one workshop time to review their writing with the instructor.
