Archival and conference publications

The interdisciplinary mixed reality rehabilitation research group of our IGERT has matured its research in the past 12 months. It has produced archival and conference publications that establish generalizable principles for i) adaptive, customizable movement rehabilitation, ii) extrinsic feedback design for rehabilitation, iii) quantification of movement quality during rehabilitation. A large scale archival publication is under preparation, based on the results of a clinical study, that shows clear benefits for revealing movement quality kinematics to stroke survivors during rehabilitation through augmenting (extrinsic), adaptive feedback. The highly prestigious American Congress on Rehabilitation Medicine has invited a seminar by the group for its annual conference. The group is about to release its first version of a mixed reality system for long-term, cost-effective rehabilitation of stroke survivors at the home.
