Microsoft summer internship
Rick Weber has been invited to a second prestigious Microsoft internship for the upcoming summer. He excelled in his internship the previous summer and is now in a position to expand Microsoft's research into high performance computing applications for biological applications. He has indicated his desire to take a full time job with the company when he graduates (expected to be May 2012) and to use his unique skill set in GPU programming, supercomputing, biochemistry, and protein dynamics to drive research and development. The internship this summer, where he will research high performance linear algebra libraries, will be a substantial step toward achieving that goal.
