Trainee James Elmore characterized the post-translational modification of RIN4, a key protein involved in plant innate immune responses, using mass spectrometry to map RIN4 phosphorylation sites. The high-impact results from these experiments were recently published in Cell Host and Microbe, the premier journal for microbial pathogenesis.
