IGERT Trainee and Associate Teams: In the past year our IGERT PhD students and Undergraduate Associates have been building more working partnerships with one another than ever. There are currently 3 laboratories with teams of IGERT PhD’s and Undergraduate Associates working on projects together. These partnerships provide both our PhD and undergraduate students with a heightened research experience. While Associates have had the opportunity to participate in the cutting edge research taking place in some of the best labs at our university, PhD students thoroughly benefit from the help of the Undergraduates. PhD’s have commented that the undergraduates work at a superior level, and help them move their projects along at a faster pace.
