Trainees publish paper in 'Nano Letters'
Kim Venta, IGERT program alumnus Michael Fischbein and Faculty Adviser Prof. Marija Drndic published a paper in the leading research journal, Nano Letters. The 2010 paper, titled "DNA Translocation through Graphene Nanopores" investigated DNA translocations through nanopores created in graphene membranes. Venta and her colleagues discovered that the use of graphene material for the nanopore device resulted in improved electronic sensing and control at the pore. This research discovery will be invaluable to progressing research on DNA sequencing techniques and advancing research single-cell probes.
