Trainee, Kim Venta has been awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for her work on graphene nanopores for DNA sequencing, with Dr. Marija Drndic, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pennsylvania. Kim recently published a paper titled, "DNA Translocation through Graphene Nanopores," in Nano Letters and has several additional papers published or in press as well as several presentations at major conferences. Moreover, the work that Kim collaborated on with Bob Johnson was featured on the cover of the Economist technology quarterly, in addition to an art show during Philadelphia's "First Fridays."
