Embryonic stem cell culture
Direct-Write Assembly of 3D Microperiodic Scaffolds for Neuronal and Human Embryonic Stem Cell Culture - The rapidly developing field of tissue engineering is based upon an inherently interdisciplinary approach to designing biological constructs for the restoration and replacement of damaged or diseased tissue. A transformational approach to designing these constructs requires the combination of engineering capabilities with thorough scientific understanding of the complex biological processes that influence cell growth and proliferation. This project will provide the IGERT Trainee with a collaborative environment in which cell culture, chemical synthesis, material characterization, micro-fabrication, and engineering design are combined to explore the effect of 3D microperiodic scaffolds on neuronal and human embryonic stem cell cultures.
