New Interdisciplinary Research Methods course
The new, two-semester course Interdisciplinary Research Methods was taught during the 2010-11 academic year by IGERT PIs Nilsa Bosque-Perez, Lisette Waits and Jo Ellen Force. The course includes a review of interdisciplinary literature, lectures and team exercises to develop conceptual models for team research, critical review of proposals and research papers originating from the NSF Coupled Human-Ecological Systems program, and student team exercises to develop interdisciplinary research proposals. The course culminates with team presentations of interdisciplinary research proposals. The course is a great vehicle to improve interdisciplinary team skills as well as proposal writing and professional presentation skills. It will be taught again in the 2011-12 academic year.
