Achievement

All the SEIGERT trainees were given formal one-semester lectures in how to be a good teacher. All SEIGERT trainees at Purdue and UTEP mentored undergraduate student researcher both in the summer of 2011 as well as during the regular Fall and Spring semesters. Some of this mentoring will lead to undergraduate students being coauthors on the papers currently being written. The majority of the trainees presented poster papers at various colloquiums, international conferences and some trainees presented oral papers at prestigious conferences. The majority of the SEIGERT trainees also presented supervised lectures in the two SEIGERT courses taught in 2011 and 2012. Adequate feedback by the course instructor as well as students attending the lectures was provided to them for improving their teaching effectiveness.
