Achievement

This year a new SEIGERT course titled 'Systems Analysis of Energy Production' was developed and taught to all IGERT trainees and associates in Spring 2012. The course material covered thermodynamic principles behind production, transformation and use of fossil fuels and various renewable energies. A set of new lecture notes was developed for this course as no single existing book could be used as a textbook. The enrollment for this course was high, however, the class size was restricted to thirty this time. Students appreciated the integrative/systems aspect of this course. Also SEIGERT course 'Advanced Solar Energy Conversion' was taught in the Fall of 2011.
