Achievement

As a part of our IGERT program, two Trainees, Cassandra Thiel and Scott Shrake completed their international rotation at Universidade Federal Do Espirito Santo (UFES), Espirito Santo, Brazil. They both developed and taught an Introduction to Life Cycle Assessment course. The new course includes concepts of Life Cycle Assessment to second and third year undergraduate students. The course is a project-based course developed to coincide with a Material Science course in which students’ final projects are assessments of building materials. The course was designed to be distributed to other Brazilian Universities, such as Unicamp.
