Achievement

As a followup to the course "Foundations of Resilience" and as a core activity of the semester abroad, trainees developed and completed a paper comparing the approaches to water management over time in the Greater Platte River Watershed. This paper was informed by experiences gained in Europe, and focuses on adaptive management and the resilience of the watershed over time. As such, the trainees were challenged to learn as much as possible regarding current and past approaches to water management on the Platte, and how this varied over time in reponse to resource shortages, changing demand, politics and stakeholder perceptions.
