Trainee Achievements
Analyzing urban community gardens
Two trainees, K. Nemec and J. Chan, while taking advantage of the UNL IGERT program’s first international experience in Vienna, Austria, collaborated on an interdisciplinary project using an integrated social science and ecological approach to analyze urban community gardens from a resilience perspective. While in Vienna they gathered data for their research, and an oral presentation on this project will be delivered at the Nebraska Academy of Sciences’ annual meeting. They will submit a manuscript for publication and the resulting product will be shared with study participants in Vienna for distribution among local practitioners and researchers.
