Applications of LQCD techniques
Rebbi, the PI in this proposal, has continued to work with Brower, a participating scientist, and ACES students Babich and Schaich in an aggressive program of calculations in computational particle theory. This past year they extended their research from the study of Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (LQCD) to applications of LQCD techniques to dynamical theories of electroweak symmetry breaking. These investigations are carried out in the context of a national collaboration involving scientists at other universities and at DOE laboratories. Rebbi and coworkers are using supercomputer resources at Boston University, at the NSF Teragrid Centers, and at LLNL, FNAL, BNL and TJNAF to obtain results which may one day provide clues to the interpretation of the experimental data that will be obtained at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
