Microscale characterization of P3HT:PCBM
Ying Bao (USD, Chemistry) is working on microscale characterization of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT)/(6,6)-phenyl-C61-butric-acid methyl ester (PCBM) bulk heterojunction blend films. In collaboration with Dr. Qiao’s group at SDSU, she has successfully characterized the solvent effect on the PCBM crystallization in the blend films. Her work provided better understanding of the micro and nanoscale structures of the blend films in photovoltaic devices, one of the interdisciplinary research goals of the IGERT program. Her work has been accepted in Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics, 2012, DOI: 10.1039/C2CP40503B.
